By 1979, the Stratocaster had evolved significantly from its 1950s origins, adopting features implemented under Fender's parent company, CBS.

Headstock: Iconic, oversized "Large Headstock" with a black CBS-style script logo.
Neck Joint: 3-bolt neck plate featuring the Micro-Tilt adjustment mechanism.
Truss Rod: "Bullet" truss rod adjustment nut protruding from the headstock face.

Bright, Aggressive Tone: The dense Ash body combined with the ceramic or late-70s Alnico pickups yields a very bright, punchy sound. It has incredible sustain and a sharp treble bite that cuts through a mix well.
